The alumni association is highly involved in the community. The HN Alumni Foundation sponsors programs that provide academic scholarships, promote social welfare and perform community services. They are members of the National Pan-Hellenic Council and the North American Inter-fraternity Conference.

The foundation also supports quite a few philanthropic organizations, including:

• Local Title I elementary, middle, and high schools in Mobile County

• Habitat for Humanity

• Scholarships to The University of South Alabama
